Terms and Conditions
Last updated: June 18, 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of commercial licenses for React Native Track Player ("RNTP", "the Software"), a software library developed and distributed by Double Symmetry GmbH, Dürerstraße 38, 12203 Berlin, Germany ("Double Symmetry", "we", "us"). By purchasing a license, you agree to these Terms.
2. The Software
React Native Track Player is an audio playback library for React Native applications. It is distributed under a dual-license model: non-commercial use is free under the terms of the software's license file; limited development and evaluation use is permitted as described in Section 4; commercial use requires a paid license as described in these Terms. A commercial license grants access to RNTP V5 and all subsequent updates released during the active subscription period.
3. Definition of Commercial Use
Except for Development and Evaluation Use as described in Section 4, any use of the Software that does not strictly and entirely qualify as Personal Use or Educational Use (as defined below) is considered commercial use and requires a paid license.
Personal Use means use by a private individual solely for personal, non-professional purposes, with no connection to any business activity or revenue.
Educational Use means use by a qualified academic institution strictly for instructional or non-commercial research activities.
Commercial use includes, but is not limited to:
- Any use within a for-profit company, non-profit organization, or government entity.
- Use by freelancers or consultants in the course of delivering client work.
- Use in an application that generates revenue, directly or indirectly.
- Use in a production application, customer-facing application, client deliverable, or other application distributed to end users.
- Ongoing internal business operations, including internal tooling or production systems.
4. Development and Evaluation Use
You may use the Software without a paid commercial license solely for development, testing, evaluation, and pre-production prototyping, provided the Software is not used in any production application, customer-facing application, client deliverable, revenue-generating application, or internal business application or tool.
This exception ends when an application or tool containing the Software is deployed, distributed, delivered to a client, used by end users, used by employees or contractors for business purposes, or otherwise used in business operations. At that point, a commercial license is required unless your use qualifies as Personal Use or Educational Use.
5. License Tiers
We offer the following commercial license tiers:
- RNTP Pro (€99/month or €999/year): Grants the right to use the Software in one (1) production application owned and operated by your organization. White-labeling and resale are not permitted.
- RNTP Studio (€249/month or €2,499/year): Grants the right to use the Software in up to five (5) production applications owned and operated by your organization. White-labeling and resale are not permitted.
- Platform/OEM License (custom): Available for agencies, platform providers, and other organizations that deliver the Software in white-label apps, client deliverables, or platform-scale deployments. Scope, pricing, and terms are agreed individually and governed by Section 6. Contact support@rntp.dev.
- Launch Credit (invite-only): A complimentary 6-month commercial license for eligible independent developers and small teams. Issued as a single-use discount code by email; the 6-month term begins when the code is redeemed at checkout. After the complimentary period, the subscription auto-renews at the standard rate unless cancelled. Non-transferable.
6. Platform/OEM Licenses
A Platform/OEM License is the only tier under which white-labeling, resale, and redistribution are permitted. It allows use of the Software in white-labeled applications built from one or more shared codebases, resale and client delivery, and distribution of applications containing the Software to or through third parties — including submission to a third party's own Apple or Google developer accounts — within the scope set out in your subscription or order (such as the number of applications or stations it covers). Pricing and permitted scope are defined by your subscription or order, not by these Terms.
Conditional on an active subscription. All rights granted under a Platform/OEM License apply only while the corresponding subscription is active and paid in good standing, and only for its duration. A subscription is active and in good standing only while it is current with the payment processor and not in a failed-payment, suspended, expired, chargeback, or cancelled state; a subscription whose renewal payment has failed is not in good standing regardless of any grace or retry period. Use of the Software beyond the scope of your subscription requires a subscription that covers that use.
Effect of expiry or cancellation. If a Platform/OEM subscription lapses, expires, or is cancelled:
- applications that already include the Software and were published or delivered before the subscription lapsed, expired, or was cancelled may remain available and continue to operate — we will not require you to remove, disable, or recall them; but
- you may not, without a current subscription, release any new application, build, or update that includes the Software; submit, re-submit, or publish any application containing the Software to any developer account or app-store listing not already live as of that date; add the Software to any new or existing application; onboard or deliver an application containing the Software to any new client or station; or otherwise expand, extend, or renew its distribution or use.
Resuming any activity described above requires a current subscription.
Redistribution responsibility. You are solely responsible for the applications you build, white-label, distribute, or operate under this license and for your relationships with your clients and end users. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless against any claim, demand, loss, or liability (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to those applications or your relationships with your clients, their clients, end users, or any other third party, regardless of who brings the claim — except to the extent the claim arises from the Software's own infringement of a third party's intellectual-property rights or from our gross negligence or willful misconduct. These Terms confer no rights on, and create no benefit for, any client, sub-client, or end user of a Platform/OEM licensee.
No reporting. We do not require reporting of the number of applications, stations, end users, or other usage. Your permitted scope is governed by your subscription or order, and nothing in this section limits our right to enforce that scope.
7. Payment and Billing
Commercial licenses are billed on a recurring basis — monthly or annually, depending on the plan. Prices are listed in EUR and exclude applicable taxes, which may be added at checkout or invoice depending on your jurisdiction. Payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy (a Stripe company). By providing payment details, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel your subscription.
8. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to the Software until then. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at support@rntp.dev within 14 days of the charge.
9. License Restrictions
Unless your license tier explicitly permits otherwise, you may not:
- Use the Software in more applications than your license tier allows.
- Sublicense, resell, or redistribute the Software or any portion thereof.
- Use the Software to build a competing product or service.
- Remove or obscure any copyright or proprietary notices in the Software.
- Share, transfer, or make your license credentials available to third parties outside your organization.
10. Source Code Modifications
You may modify the Software's source code solely for your own internal use within the scope of your license. You may not distribute, sublicense, or make any modified version of the Software available to third parties as a standalone library, as part of another software development kit, or in any form other than embedded within an application permitted by your license. Modifications do not grant you any additional rights beyond those conferred by your license tier, and all restrictions in these Terms continue to apply to modified versions.
11. Intellectual Property
The Software and all associated documentation, code, and materials remain the exclusive intellectual property of Double Symmetry GmbH. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software as described herein. No ownership rights are transferred to you.
12. Updates and Support
Active license holders receive all Software updates and bug fixes released during their subscription period. All paid license tiers include direct email support at support@rntp.dev. Support is provided on a reasonable-effort basis and does not include guaranteed response times.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Double Symmetry GmbH shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amounts paid by you to us in the three (3) months preceding the claim.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Berlin, Germany, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.
16. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active license holders. Continued use of the Software after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
